Commissioner Testimonials
"Ariana Faris has been delivering tailored Motivational Interviewing
training for staff at Southdown Housing Association for 4 years. Her sessions are
well received; she has always focussed on the needs of the group and inspired our
housing staff to use motivational techniques with service users in a community
setting. One participant recently told me that Ariana’s session was “one of the
finest pieces of training she’d ever had”. I would recommend that other organisations
use Ariana for MI training."

"Cintre community is an independent provider of residential care and
supported independence for young people with learning disabilities, some of
whom also exhibit challenging behaviour. We have fifty staff.
We have employed the services of Ariana Faris as a tutor of motivational
interviewing on four occasions in the past twelve months and have found her
courses stimulating, informative and thought-provoking.
Feedback has been excellent, with several of our managers and staff
commenting that their listening skills and solution-based approaches to their
clients’ problems have altered and improved as a result of the triaining.
Recently our managers assistant mangers and inhouse trainers attended a
two-day continuation course with Ariana which we would strongly recommend. We
intend sending all our keyworkers on a similar course in the near future and
eventually all our staff.
We would suggest that , to derive maximum benefit from the training, more
more than twelve people attend a course at any one time and that initial
training is followed up with an annual refresher course."
- Richard Cull, Training Manager, Cintre Community
"I can highly recommend the motivational interviewing training two day event.
This was based on the feedback from review formas and verbal comments made from staff
attending the training.
Staff expressed how they had enjoyed the training while gaining insight into their
working practises. The trainers were professional with a relaxed attitude and skilful
in their delivery and approach. The program was individually devised using various teaching methods.
There were clear and precise objectives but they also had the flexibility to cater for all the
staff’s ideas and concerns, while staying realistic.
When asked how staff would incorporate this training into their working role the reply was that
the user friendly training can be adapted to any situation due to the self analysing, reflecting
and problem solving process which empowers the staff member who in turn can enhance the service they
provide with the young people they work with.
The whole feedback was that the training was positive and enriching and will definitely continue to
be a part of staff development."
